New Jersey's Burlington County Farmers Market is set to conclude its 2024 season with two significant events. The market, which was recently named the top farmers market in New Jersey by the American Farmland Trust, will host a Pre-Thanksgiving Market on November 23 and a Holiday Farmers Market on December 7.
Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming events, stating, "The 2024 season at the Burlington County Farmers Market will be one we will long remember. Not only was the market crowned No. 1 in New Jersey by the American Farmland Trust this year, but it also attracted phenomenal support from shoppers from across Burlington County and the entire region."
The Pre-Thanksgiving Market will feature over 70 farms, vendors, and artists offering a variety of products such as Jersey Fresh produce, meats, honey, flowers, wreaths, and other items. A Thanksgiving cooking demonstration is scheduled for 10 AM along with live music from Oliver Dagum.
Commissioner Allison Eckel highlighted the benefits of shopping at the market: "Whether you’re shopping for delicious foods for Thanksgiving or getting a jump on holiday gift buying, the Burlington County Farmers Market has everything you need in a single location."
Now in its 18th year, the farmers market operates rain or shine during spring through fall. This year saw additional preseason days in March and April. The market's venue is part of an agricultural center that includes community gardens and demonstration fields managed by Rutgers Cooperative Extension.
Eckel praised the Agricultural Center as "a one-of-a-kind destination that showcases Burlington County’s farming heritage." She encouraged residents to attend one of the final markets to prepare for holiday celebrations.
