The Burlington County Commissioners have announced the addition of Randy Brolo as the newest member of their board. Brolo, a resident of Lumberton and a seasoned union leader, was sworn in on Saturday to fill the vacancy left by Balvir Singh, who resigned to join the New Jersey Assembly representing the 7th Legislative District.
Burlington County Commissioner Director Dr. Felicia Hopson expressed enthusiasm about Brolo's appointment: “Randy is a longtime resident and union leader who adds another diverse voice to our Commissioner Board. He understands the pressures faced by working families and the importance of protecting the vulnerable and making investments for present and future generations."
Brolo has an extensive background with the Laborers’ International Union of North America, serving as South Jersey Business Development Manager. His educational credentials include graduating from the New York State AFL-CIO Leadership Institute at Cornell University. In addition to his professional work, Brolo has served on several local boards, including the Rancocas Valley Regional High School Board of Education and Mount Holly Municipal Authority.
He shared his thoughts on joining the board: “I am honored to be part of a group of dedicated public servants who understand how county government can make a difference for working families.” Brolo highlighted issues such as hunger, housing, and substance use that he hopes to address alongside his colleagues.
Brolo is also involved in community activities outside his professional life. He is married with five children and participates actively in their extracurricular pursuits while also enjoying mixed martial arts and classic cars.
Dr. Hopson added that they are eager for Brolo's input as they aim "to create new opportunities for economic growth while protecting the environment and quality of life that makes Burlington County so special.”
