ICYMI: The Burlington County community came together last weekend to celebrate the milestone birthday of a Roebling man who has led an extraordinary life.
George Pukenas celebrated his 100th birthday on January 9, and his family, friends and Burlington County Commissioner Dan O’Connell gathered to honor him as well as his accomplishments.
Pukenas, a longtime resident of Roebling, served three years in the Pacific during World War II, where he sailed aboard the USS LST-991, an amphibious tank landing ship.
