Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson addressed the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce’s 20th State of the County Dinner, focusing on community health and economic growth. The event took place at The Merion in Cinnaminson and included video messages from several notable figures such as New Jersey Senator-elect Andy Kim, Assemblywoman Andrea Katz, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst Commander Col. Anthony L. Smith, PSE&G Regional Public Affairs Manager Caren Freyer, and Fulton Bank Senior Vice President Matthew Brennan.

Hopson discussed various initiatives aimed at enhancing community health, including mental health services, food and housing security programs, environmental protection efforts, business support measures, and affordability strategies. She stated: “If you have healthy people, a healthy environment and healthy communities, our county will have the tools necessary to continue to recover, grow, and thrive.”

One key program mentioned was the County’s food assistance grant initiative that provides up to $75,000 to local food pantries and similar organizations. To date, nearly $500,000 has been distributed through this program with additional funding still available.

The County also introduced Hope One for Youth—a mobile outreach unit focused on children's mental health—and expanded Camp Cardinal for children affected by substance use disorder.

Hopson noted Burlington County's strong economic performance in 2024 with almost 150 new businesses registered locally. Additionally, she highlighted that Burlington County maintained the lowest average county tax in New Jersey for the fifth consecutive year according to data from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.

“We want all of Burlington County’s residents and business owners to know their county’s government is here to help,” Hopson remarked. “By working together we can help make sure Burlington County stays the place that our residents love and where people and businesses want to be.”
