10

Burlington County issued the following announcement.

Did you know? Burlington County has a Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) to assist the Burlington County Health Department and Burlington County Office of Emergency Management during health emergencies and other events.

Members of the MRC have contributed over 11,500 volunteer hours  since the COVID-19 pandemic started.

In recognition of their service, the Health Department held an appreciation dinner for the volunteer MRC members on Wednesday evening at Historic Smithville Park in Eastampton. Burlington County Commissioner Dan O’Connell was among the invited guests who paid tribute to the volunteers.

"From testing and contact tracing to vaccines and food distribution, the Medical Reserve Corps has played a huge role in our County's COVID-19 response, and we owe each of you an enormous debt of gratitude," O'Connell told the volunteers at the dinner. "Your tireless service has literally saved lives and helped restore a sense of normalcy throughout our county.
