Rep. Andy Kim, a Congressman representing New Jersey’s 3rd district since 2019, recently took to social media to discuss various pressing issues. His statements reflect a focus on international accountability, labor rights, and community resilience in the face of natural disasters.
On March 28, Kim emphasized the importance of holding Russia accountable for its actions against Ukraine. He shared insights from his dialogues with New Jersey's Ukrainian community and underscored the necessity of supporting partners through initiatives, indicating the critical nature of such efforts. "We must continue to hold Russia accountable for the atrocities they are committing against Ukraine. In conversations with NJ's Ukrainian community and from congress, it is clear how essential initiatives like this are to supporting our partners."
Later the same day, Kim posted about labor rights, defending the rights of workers to organize. He criticized former President Trump's actions against federal workers, labeling them unlawful and a direct attack on working people nationwide. Kim stood firm in his belief that all workers deserve the right to be heard. "This is a direct attack on working people across the country. All workers deserve the right to collectively bargain and make their voices heard. Trump's unlawful, act of retribution against our federal workers cannot stand."
On March 29, Kim addressed the challenges of natural disasters faced by New Jersey, expressing opposition to the policies of former President Trump and Elon Musk. He indicated that these policies leave citizens to manage without necessary support and pledged to stand against such measures. "NJ knows what it’s like to suffer through natural disasters. Trump and Musk want you to fend for yourself. We won’t let them."
