The Burlington County Sheriff’s Office has commenced its 29th Annual Holiday Toy Drive, inviting community members to contribute new toys for children and families in need. Donation bins are set up at nearly 50 locations throughout Burlington County, with collections running until December 13.

Last year's drive saw the collection of hundreds of toys and gifts, which were distributed to local families by the Sheriff's Office and its partners. In addition to toys, the office accepts donations of food, toiletries, water, paper supplies, and other household goods for year-round distribution.

Sheriff James Kostoplis expressed pride in this initiative: "As members of law enforcement, we take a lot of pride in serving Burlington County communities and the toy drive is a special part of that service. It’s a longstanding tradition that has brightened the holidays for thousands of children and families. We want to make this year’s drive our most successful yet, so we’re once again reaching out for community support."

A detailed list of donation bin locations can be found on the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page or the county website.

Originally a holiday service, the toy drive has expanded over four years into a year-round operation aiding numerous families. Sheriff Kostoplis explained: "The Toy Drive began as a way to help make sure all Burlington County children received a toy or gift during the holidays, regardless of their family’s circumstances. That’s still our goal, but we also know that need exists year-round. Thanks to the generosity of Burlington County’s residents and businesses we’ve been able to provide help 12 months a year and at the same time build stronger ties with the communities we protect and serve."

Businesses interested in hosting a donation bin can contact the Sheriff’s Community Outreach Unit at 609-265-3788. Donated items will be distributed to local families needing holiday assistance. For inquiries about the Toy Drive, contact 609-265-3788.
