The Burlington County Sheriff's Office, County Commissioners, and Special Services School District are set to host an inclusive Trunk-or-Treat event for children of all abilities. Scheduled for Saturday, October 26, from noon to 2 PM, the event will take place at the Burlington County Special Services School in Westampton.

This free event offers a safe environment for children to dress in costumes and visit decorated cars and emergency vehicles to collect small toys, candy, and other treats. Additionally, there will be music, games, holiday crafts, and more activities available.

"Trunk-or-Treat has become one of our favorite inclusive holiday celebrations," said Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson. "This event provides families with the opportunity to gather and enjoy the Halloween season in a way that’s safe an inclusive for all children."

Marking its sixth year, the Trunk-or-Treat is organized by the Sheriff's Office along with Commissioners and the Special Services School District. Participating entities include various county departments such as Human Services and Public Safety, as well as local first responders.

“Trunk-or-Treat is one of the most anticipated events on the calendar," stated Tyler Burrell, president of the combined Burlington County Special Services/Burlington County Institute of Technology School Board. "It’s an event that brings communities together for a safe celebration of the holiday."

Burlington County Sheriff James Kostoplis emphasized that this initiative allows children to enjoy Halloween festivities while interacting with familiar faces from schools and local authorities.

“Halloween is a fun holiday for children and adults alike," Sheriff Kostoplis remarked. "Burlington County’s Trunk-or-Treat is important because it provides kids and their families with an inclusive, safe, and welcoming environment.”
