Burlington County is commencing the distribution of General Election vote-by-mail (VBM) ballots to registered voters who have requested them. More than 50,000 VBM ballots are being dispatched this week in preparation for the Nov. 5 General Election.

Voters can return their ballots by mail, drop box, or directly to the Burlington County Board of Elections office. No postage is required for mail returns within Burlington County.

“Voting by mail is a simple and easy way for voters to cast ballot when it’s most convenient for their schedule,” said Burlington County Clerk Joanne Schwartz. “It’s an easy and secure way to exercise this important right.”

The Burlington County Elections Board will accept completed VBM ballots at their office at 301 Harper Drive in Moorestown during regular hours from 8 AM to 4 PM on weekdays leading up to Election Day. On Nov. 5, the board will accept ballots until polls close at 8 PM.

A secure drop box is available outside the building, one of 29 throughout the county, accessible until 8 PM on Election Day. A full list of drop box locations is available online at https://www.co.burlington.nj.us/2102/Secure-Ballot-Drop-Boxes.

Completed VBM ballots sent via U.S. Postal Service will be accepted if postmarked before 8 PM on Nov. 5 and received by the Board of Elections within six days after the election.

The Burlington County Clerk's office at Harper Drive will process VBM applications and other services such as passport applications and deed filings remain at their main office at 50 Rancocas Road, Mount Holly, and the County Corner Store satellite office in Moorestown Mall. Voted ballots should not be returned to these locations.

Registered voters can request a VBM ballot from the Clerk’s Office until 3:00 PM on Nov. 4 with a form available online at https://www.co.burlington.nj.us/996/Vote-by-Mail-Information. Requests must be received by Oct. 29; after this date, requests must be made in person at either Clerk’s office location until Nov. 4 at 3 PM.

Residents can register to vote at the Superintendent of Elections Office at 301 Harper Drive between weekdays from 8 AM to 4 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM to 2 PM at the County Corner Store location in Moorestown Mall or online at https://nj.gov/state/elections/voter-registration.shtml.

All voters must register by Oct. 15 to be eligible for voting in the Nov. 5 General Election.
