Burlington County Summer Restaurant Week kicks off this weekend, marking its five-year anniversary with a variety of dishes and specials.
The weeklong celebration of Burlington County's culinary scene starts Sunday, Aug. 18, and continues through Saturday, Aug. 24. More than 75 local establishments are participating in this year's event, organized by the Burlington County Commissioners, State Senator Troy Singleton, and the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce.
“Our Board started Burlington County Restaurant Week in 2019 to showcase all the outstanding local restaurants in this county and we’ve seen the promotion grow and become more successful each year,” said Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson. “This summer we’re celebrating more than 75 restaurants and eateries, plus a record number of specials and discounts created exclusively for Restaurant Week. We can’t wait to sample many of the great dishes, drinks and desserts Burlington County chefs are cooking up and to shine a spotlight on our county’s amazing dining scene.”
“In every corner of Burlington County, there are amazing restaurants, including many small family-run businesses whose owners and employees are neighbors, family or friends,” added Senator Singleton. “Restaurants aren’t merely places to buy a meal. They’re important gathering spots and destinations that drive people to visit local downtowns and business districts. Restaurant Week celebrates not only great food at these businesses but also the impact they have on Burlington County’s communities.”
Throughout Restaurant Week, the organizers will highlight participating establishments by making visits to them and posting spotlights on social media. Patrons are encouraged to try new restaurants or celebrate their local favorites by posting about them with the hashtag #BurlcoRestaurantWeek.
Most participating establishments have created special menus, unique dishes, and discounts for the event. Braddock’s Tavern in Medford will offer a special three-course meal selection during the week. Robin’s Nest in Mount Holly, Marblehead Chowder House in Westampton, and HoopHouse in Bordentown have also created special fixed-price menus. JB Bakery in Burlington is offering a free donut special during the week while Remix Café in Burlington is offering a banana smoothie to patrons who mention Restaurant Week.
In honor of Restaurant Week’s anniversary, longtime participating restaurants are being recognized for their contributions to popularizing the event.
These participants include: Braddock’s Tavern (Medford), Carlucci’s Waterfront (Mount Laurel), Evermore Coffee Roasters (Burlington), Francesco’s Pizzeria & Ristorante Italiano (Burlington), Fratelli’s Italian Restaurant (Burlington), Healthy Garden Café (Moorestown), Joe Italiano’s (Moorestown), Luna Y Sol Mexican Restaurant (Moorestown), O’Connor’s American Bar & Grille (Eastampton), One More Bar and Grill (Tabernacle), Palermo’s (Bordentown), Robin’s Nest (Mount Holly), Taste of Soul Restaurant (Burlington), Mangia Brick Oven Pizza and Grill (Bordentown), HoopHouse Bakery and Café (Bordentown), Dooney’s Pub (Delran), Bagelati (Cinnaminson), Colonial Café (Mount Holly Blue Claw Seafood and Crab House) [sic], Riccardo's Pizza (Beverly).
“The participating restaurants, their employees and the residents who patronize and support these businesses have helped make this event one of the biggest restaurant weeks in the region,” said Hopson.
