Burlington County’s most popular farmers market is leading the race to be crowned New Jersey’s favorite in this year’s America’s Farmers Market Celebration. With just a few days remaining for voting, the Burlington County Farmers Market is currently ranked highest among New Jersey locations and third across the entire Northeast region.

The annual poll, sponsored by the American Farmland Trust, offers both bragging rights and prizes to top vote recipients nationally, regionally, and statewide.

“The Burlington County Farmers Market has grown to become a must-visit attraction for both county residents and visitors from across the state and region,” said Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson. “The market’s popularity has helped it become an important resource for local farmers and small businesses of all sorts. We’re proud of its success and that it’s being recognized across New Jersey and the region. There are still a few days of voting left, so show the market some love and help it finish No. 1.”

Voting can be done at https://markets.farmland.org/markets/5608208 until 5 PM on Wednesday, July 31.

This Saturday features a special peach-themed market day with various Jersey Fresh peaches for sale along with numerous peach products including chutney, salsa, jams, teas, pies, cobblers, scones, ice cream, and more.

The Peach Party will be held during regular market hours from 8:30 AM to 1 PM this Saturday. In addition to peach products for sale, there will be a cooking demonstration, kids activities, peach basket giveaways, samples of peach ice cream and crumble while supplies last. The Flim Flam Band will perform throughout the day.

Peach Party is one of several themed days planned this summer including Tomato Day on Aug. 31 and For the Love of Squash Day on September 28.

“New Jersey is famous for its delicious peaches and other produce and there’s no better place to shop for fruits, vegetables and other great items than the Burlington County Farmers Market,” said Burlington County Commissioner Allison Eckel. “This Saturday’s Peach Party is a great day for market regulars and newcomers to shop, sample and enjoy the food, crafts and entertainment at our Agricultural Center.”

Now in its 18th season, the Burlington County Farmers Market operates rain or shine on Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 1 PM at the Burlington County Agricultural Center in Moorestown. This year’s season began in May and runs through Nov. 23 with an additional holiday market on Dec. 7.

This year also featured several preseason market days during March and April.
