Road resurfacing work is beginning this week and next on stretches of three Burlington County highways in Mansfield, Florence, and Hainesport.

Pavement milling and overlay were scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 21, on a 1.7-mile section of Burlington-Columbus Road, also known as County Route 543. The work will occur between County Route 660 in Florence and County Route 656 in Mansfield and is expected to take about two weeks to complete.

Beginning Monday, May 28, work is expected to start on resurfacing a 0.7-mile section of Atlantic/New York Avenue, also known as County Route 690, near Route 206 South in Mansfield. This project is also anticipated to take approximately two weeks.

Additionally, starting Monday, May 28, repaving will commence on a section of Hainesport-Mount Laurel Road (County Route 674) between Route 537 and Creek Road in Hainesport. This work is expected to be completed within a week.

Traffic will be maintained through all three work areas; however, motorists using these roads are likely to experience delays and are advised to seek alternative routes.

The projects on Burlington-Columbus Road and Hainesport-Mount Laurel Road are being performed by Black Rock Enterprises as part of the county’s annual road resurfacing program. A total of almost 37 miles of roadway in 14 Burlington County municipalities are expected to be resurfaced through a combination of state and county funding.

The Atlantic/New York Avenue repaving is being carried out by South State Inc. under a separate resurfacing plan funded by the county.
