Two new Burlington County road resurfacing projects are set to commence next week, with pavement milling and overlay work scheduled to kick off in Westampton and Mansfield.

According to a report, the resurfacing work on Rancocas Road, also known as County Route 626, in Westampton will begin on Monday, May 6. The project, spanning 1.7 miles between Route 637 and Lumbert Drive, is expected to take about two weeks to complete. Motorists are advised to anticipate delays and consider alternative routes during this period.

Simultaneously, a 2-mile section of Columbus Road, also referred to as County Route 543, in Mansfield will undergo similar pavement milling and overlay work starting on the same day. The project on Columbus Road, between Route 656 and Atlantic/New York Avenue, is part of the County's annual road resurfacing program aimed at improving the condition of the roads.

As noted in the report, a total of nearly 37 miles of roadway across 15 Burlington County municipalities will be resurfaced through a combination of State and County funding. The work on Columbus Road specifically will be carried out by Black Rock Enterprises.

Regarding the Rancocas Road project, it is being executed by South State Inc. and forms part of a separate repaving initiative funded by the County.

In light of the upcoming roadwork, authorities have assured that traffic will be maintained through the work areas, although delays are expected.
