Thirteen adoptions in one day is outstanding and shows how events like this that bring people to our shelter to meet and interact with the animals can make a difference,” said Burlington County Commissioner Deputy Director Dan O’Connell, who tossed out the ceremonial first pitch at the event. “We had a fun time and saw a lot of great animals find new loving families. It was a beautiful day for baseball and pet adoptions and we want to thank everyone who volunteered and donated to the animals in our care.”
Among the 13 adopted pets were Ginger, a senior dog who was surrendered last month after her owner passed away, and Romeo, Pierre and Biscotti, a trio of cats who were adopted Sunday by their foster family.
“The Burlington County Animal Shelter is one of the our most important services and we’re incredibly grateful for all the shelter staff and volunteers who care for and assist these animals,” said O’Connell. “On behalf of our Board, we want to thank them for all they do and also thank the residents who have opened their homes and their hearts to our shelter’s animals or provided other support to help us care for them and find them loving homes. Our board also wishes the adopters and adoptees all the best.”
