Burlington County is gearing up for a day of eco-friendly fun and education at the upcoming Earth Fair 2024. Scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 21, at Historic Smithville Park, the event promises a wide array of activities and programs focused on sustainability, recycling, and stewardship.

As stated by Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson, "Sustainability is something we want to become part of everyone’s daily lives and Earth Fair is a fantastic place to learn." The event, coinciding with the global Earth Day celebration, aims to celebrate the environment and promote actions to protect the natural world.

One of the highlights of this year's Earth Fair will be a focus on recycling and maintaining green and sustainable practices at home and in the garden. Visitors can look forward to engaging presentations from experts like New Jersey naturalist Patt Sutton, the Burlington County Master Gardeners, and specialists from various environmental organizations.

In a bid to promote sustainability further, Burlington County Commissioner Tom Pullion shared, "We want to put excess reuseable bags to good use by partnering with Farmers Against Hunger to use them to help feed food insecure families." This initiative showcases the county's commitment to making a positive impact on both the environment and the community.

Burlington County Commissioner Allison Eckel emphasized the importance of collective action in protecting the environment, stating, "Protecting our environment is a team effort and small changes in behavior can make a world of difference." Earth Fair provides a platform for individuals to learn new ways to contribute to a greener and more sustainable planet while enjoying a day filled with entertainment and activities for all ages.

From a children's puppet parade to presentations by wildlife experts and interactive displays, Earth Fair 2024 promises to be an event not to be missed. With a variety of engaging activities and initiatives lined up, attendees can look forward to a day of learning, fun, and environmental consciousness.
