It is estimated that there are between 9.7 and 14.2 million renter households in the United States that are unable to pay rent and at risk of eviction. Those at the low end of the range are renter households that have indicated no or slight confidence in their ability to pay next month’s rent and excludes those households that receive certain forms of rental assistance.
