The Housing Wage for a modest two-bedroom rental home in the San Francisco metropolitan area, for example, is $61.50 – far higher than the national Housing Wage. On the other end of the price spectrum, the two-bedroom Housing Wage is $12.48 in areas of Arkansas. Even so, many jurisdictions with lower-than-average Housing Wages still suffer from a shortage of affordable rental homes.
