Marguerite Sylvester Hellwich | Chief Master Sergeant

The 2022 Outstanding Women of Burlington County Military Award honoree, Chief Master Sergeant Marguerite Sylvester Hellwich is a retired senior noncommissioned officer in the United States Air Force who served as the Superintendent of the 514th Aerospace Medicine Squadron, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. Chief Master Sergeant is the ninth, and highest, enlisted rank in the U.S. Air Force. In addition to policy implementation and development, Hellwich was responsible for managing, mentoring, and training hundreds of enlisted personnel.

Hellwich enlisted in the United States Airforce in 1995 and her background includes a wide range of duties and certifications in the medical field. She served as Aeromedical Evacuation Technician and Medical Readiness Flight Chief and was a part of various aeromedical evacuation Squadrons in Iraq, Germany, and Afghanistan as well as Joint Base Andrews and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

A Bordentown native, Hellwich was brought up in a family of military service members. Her more than 25 years of experience of providing direct wound care and humanitarian aid to our nation’s wounded warriors inspired her to open The Skin Medic clinic in Bordentown.

Hellwich also serves as a member of the Chiefs Council and Veterans Memorial Committee, allowing her to mentor others and help bridge the gap between service members and their communities.

Congratulations to Chief Master Sergeant Hellwich and all of this years honorees!
