Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital has received Transcatheter Valve Certification from the American College of Cardiology (ACC), recognizing its expertise and commitment to high-quality care for patients undergoing transcatheter valve repair and replacement procedures. The certification followed a comprehensive evaluation of the hospital’s multidisciplinary team structure, training processes, shared decision-making practices, and performance in national clinical registries.
“Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital has demonstrated its commitment to providing Southern New Jersey with excellent heart care,” said Deepak L. Bhatt, MD, MPH, FACC, chair of the ACC Accreditation Management Board. “ACC Accreditation Services is proud to award Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital with Transcatheter Valve Certification.”
The hospital’s Structural Heart Program in Camden offers advanced treatments for heart abnormalities affecting walls, chambers, and valves. According to Virtua Health, its cardiac specialists are performing innovative valve procedures that contribute to improved patient outcomes.
Most treatments use minimally invasive techniques that help reduce hospital stays and support faster recovery. Virtua specialists also participate in clinical trials, giving patients access to new therapies locally.
“We are proud to offer leading-edge transcatheter valve therapies that improve both quality of life and long-term outcomes for our patients,” said Ibrahim A. Moussa, DO, medical director of the Structural Heart Program at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. “This certification is a testament to the expertise of our multidisciplinary team and the rigorous standards we uphold every day.”
The ACC provides hospitals in the U.S. and internationally with cardiac accreditation services aimed at improving patient outcomes and operational performance across all areas of cardiac care, including transcatheter valve therapies.
Certification relies on national clinical measures for guiding care decisions and connects process improvement efforts directly to patient results. Hospitals achieving this recognition gain access to best practices in evidence-based medicine and tools for tracking key metrics for ongoing improvement.
