U.S. News & World Report recognized on Mar. 19 that thirteen of Virtua Health’s joint-venture ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) have achieved “high performing” status in at least one specialty for its 2026 Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers list, an increase of seven from the previous year.

The recognition highlights the performance of these ASCs in specialties such as orthopedics and spine, ophthalmology, colonoscopy and endoscopy, and urology. The annual rankings are based on Medicare fee-for-service claims from 2022 to 2024, focusing on patient safety, clinical outcomes, and reduction of complications. Out of 4,421 ASCs evaluated nationwide this year, only 911 met the standards for patient safety and clinical outcomes.

Barry Graf, senior vice president of partnerships and business development at Virtua Health, said: “We are incredibly proud that so many of our ASCs earned High Performing recognition from U.S. News & World Report. This achievement reflects the skill, dedication, and unwavering commitment of our surgical teams, who consistently deliver exceptional care across a wide range of specialties. It’s a significant confirmation of the high‑quality, patient‑centered experience we strive to provide every day.”

Virtua Health operates five hospitals and more than 400 locations across the region according to the official website. The organization also includes a network of over 3,000 affiliated doctors and extends its services through various health programs in South Jersey and beyond according to the official website.
