The Burlington County Parks System and Burlington County Library System have organized a series of free events and programs for families during the winter break. These activities aim to provide engaging and entertaining options for residents.

"Winter break is the perfect time for families to spend time together, and both the Burlington County Parks System and the Burlington County Library System have upcoming activities and programs that will keep families engaged and entertained," stated Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson. "From art exhibits and history lessons, to birding, board games, and dance parties, Burlington County offers programs for all ages and interests, and they won’t cost a cent."

Residents can explore art at three different galleries in Burlington County. The Smithville Mansion Annex Gallery currently hosts the Juried Art Show until January 4th. Additionally, the Workers’ House Gallery features handmade crafts from artists associated with Peters Valley Gallery and School of Crafts. The Warden’s House Gallery displays works by Hugh Campbell.

History enthusiasts can visit the Lyceum of History and Natural Sciences located in Langstaff Mansion on High Street. Exhibits cover topics like geology, local history, fashion, as well as artifacts including mastodon bones. The Lyceum also offers family-friendly entertainment such as board game gatherings.

Outdoor activities are available across 1,000 acres of parkland with over 50 miles of trails. Noteworthy events include a Moonlit Trail Walk at Smithville Park on January 9th. Birders can participate in Winter Bird Counts at various parks throughout January.

The library system has planned several events during this period too. Families can enjoy Holiday Karaoke at the Westampton library branch on December 27th or attend a Dining Car Mystery Magic Show at Pemberton Community Library later that day. A New Year’s Eve Dance Party is scheduled for December 28th at Evesham Branch Library.

Registration is required for certain events like the Moonlit Walk or specific library activities through provided links online.
