Thirty States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and over 50 counties and municipalities now have minimum wages higher than the federal minimum wage

Thirty States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and over 50 counties and municipalities now have minimum wages higher than the federal minimum wage, but even taking into account higher state and county minimum wages, the average minimum-wage worker must work 96 hours per week to afford a two bedroom rental home, or 79 hours per week to afford a one-bedroom rental home at the fair market rent.
