Senator Andy Kim, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 3rd district, recently expressed his views on various political issues through a series of tweets. The tweets reflect his stance on current legal and legislative matters.
On May 20, 2025, Senator Kim commented on the charges against Representative LaMonica by the US Attorney. He stated that “The decision by the US Attorney to charge @RepLaMonica has nothing to do with enforcing the law, and everything to do with this administration’s attempt to intimidate those who dare speak against them or expose the truth.” He further mentioned Congresswoman McIver’s involvement in an ongoing process related to these charges.
Later that day, Senator Kim shared a brief statement regarding the GENIUS Act via Twitter. He simply noted “My statement on the GENIUS Act” linking followers to additional information.
In another tweet posted on May 20, 2025, Senator Kim discussed congressional oversight at ICE facilities. He recounted a conversation with Secretary Noem: “I asked Sec. Noem if she understands members of congress, by law, can conduct oversight at ICE facilities like Delaney Hall unannounced.” Secretary Noem confirmed her understanding with “Yes”. Following this confirmation, he urged for an end to intimidation efforts by the Trump administration towards those involved in oversight activities.
Andy Kim has been representing New Jersey’s 3rd District since replacing Tom MacArthur in 2019. Born in Boston in 1982 and currently residing in Moorestown, he is a graduate of both Deep Springs College and the University of Chicago.
