Senator Andy Kim, currently representing New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on January 6, 2026, addressing concerns over potential conflict, political tactics, and threats to American democracy.
In a post made at 13:52 UTC on January 6, Kim expressed his frustration with current political dynamics and the prospect of further military conflict: “The American people don’t want another war. I’m with you – I’m tired of this and I’m tired of Trump’s mob boss politics.”
Later that day at 15:36 UTC, Kim criticized actions he described as punitive toward families based on political representation: “Freezing funds meant to help hundreds of thousands of families just because they are represented by democrats… this is what mob bosses, not presidents, do.”
Reflecting on the anniversary of the events at the Capitol in 2021, Kim wrote at 20:07 UTC: “January 6th taught us how fragile our system of government can be. We must learn the lesson and stay vigilant in fighting against all forms of attack on our democracy.”
Kim has served in Congress since replacing Tom MacArthur in 2019 and has been an advocate for issues affecting his constituents in New Jersey’s 3rd District. Born in Boston in 1982 and currently residing in Moorestown, Kim graduated from Deep Springs College in 2002 and received a BA from the University of Chicago in 2004.
