Senator Andy Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 3rd district since 2019, recently shared personal and policy-related updates on his social media account.
On January 8, 2026, Kim expressed support for a ban on phones in schools, stating: “As a dad of two young boys, I applaud this step to ban phones in schools and enhance our kids’ experiences in and out of the classroom. I’ll always fight for what’s best for my boys and the next generation of young leaders.”
The following day, January 9, Kim addressed public responses to his earlier disclosure about his father’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis. He wrote: “Since sharing my dad’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis publicly, I’ve been blown away by the support and your own stories about being a caregiver for a loved one. Thank you for responding to my own with empathy, kindness, and words of encouragement. We’ll continue to get through this”
Later that same day, Kim posted another message: “Straight from the mouth of a mob boss.”
Kim has represented New Jersey’s 3rd District since defeating Tom MacArthur in 2019. Born in Boston in 1982 and currently residing in Moorestown, he is an alumnus of Deep Springs College (2002) and the University of Chicago (BA, 2004).
