Senator Andy Kim, representing New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, shared a series of tweets over the past few days covering personal reflections and public engagements.
On June 15, Senator Kim extended his wishes for Father’s Day to fathers and father figures across New Jersey and the nation. He expressed his motivation for serving in Congress by saying, “I do this job to create a better future for my two boys, and I hope one day they can look back and be proud of what I’ve done.” He wished everyone a wonderful day with their loved ones.
The following day, on June 16, he announced an upcoming tele-town hall meeting scheduled for that evening at 6:30 pm. The focus of the discussion was on “the impacts of the Republican’s harmful reconciliation bill on the disability community in New Jersey.” Senator Kim invited constituents to participate by asking questions during the event.
Later that same day, Senator Kim attended a significant event concerning cultural representation. He described it as an honor to be present at the Ceremonial Swearing-In of the National Asian Pacific American Museum Commission. Reflecting on its importance, he noted how meaningful it would be for future generations, including his own children, stating “When I think of the potential for this museum, I think of my two boys and so many like them who will be able to visit.”
Senator Andy Kim was born in Boston in 1982 and currently resides in Moorestown. He is an alumnus of Deep Springs College and holds a BA from the University of Chicago.
