Senator Andy Kim, who has represented New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, shared a series of reflections and statements on social media at the start of 2026.
On January 1, Kim extended his greetings to constituents and expressed optimism for the new year. In his post, he stated: “Happy New Year, NJ! I love making new year’s resolutions and look forward to setting goals for the year ahead. Wishing you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2026.” (January 1, 2026)
The following day, Kim marked the fifth anniversary of the events of January 6th with a call for unity and healing. He wrote: “A powerful reflection, 5 years later, of what happened on January 6th. I remember it like it was yesterday. We must continue to be caretakers to this nation—to heal the divisiveness and brokenness in our country and democracy.” (January 2, 2026)
Later that same day, Kim commented on a recent nomination for Comptroller in New Jersey. He said: “I’m glad to see a serious and qualified nominee for the important role of Comptroller. Rooting out corruption, fraud and abuse is vital, and Shirley Emehelu has the experience needed to help tackle these issues head on in New Jersey. In order to succeed, she will need” (January 2, 2026)
Kim was born in Boston in 1982 and currently resides in Moorestown. He graduated from Deep Springs College in 2002 before earning his BA from the University of Chicago in 2004.
