Senator Andy Kim, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 3rd district, recently shared his thoughts on social media regarding various events and engagements. Born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1982, Kim has been a congressional representative since 2019 after replacing Tom MacArthur. He resides in Moorestown and holds degrees from the University of Chicago and Deep Springs College.
On May 12, 2025, Senator Kim expressed his joy over the release of Edan Alexander from Hamas captivity. “I’m filled with joy seeing the Tenafly community come together to celebrate Edan Alexander’s release from Hamas captivity,” he wrote. Kim highlighted the resilience shown by Alexander’s family and hometown during the 584 days of his captivity.
Later that day, Senator Kim reflected on an interaction with students from Far Brook School. “It was wonderful to sit down with so many bright young students from Far Brook School to talk about our favorite parts of New Jersey and how to be strong and effective leaders,” he stated. The senator conveyed optimism about New Jersey’s future based on this engagement.
In a subsequent post on May 13, 2025, Senator Kim reiterated the collective relief felt following Edan Alexander’s reunion with his loved ones. “So many have worked and wished for this day for so long. We can all rest a little easier tonight with Edan reunited with his loved ones,” he commented.
