Senator Andy Kim, who represents New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of personal and community-focused reflections on his social media account on March 16, 2026.
In one post from that day, Kim recounted his ongoing connection with an advocate he met early in his congressional career: “I met Elizabeth just a few months into my first term in Congress. She came to my office as an advocate with the Alzheimer’s Association. We recently sat down together again as I now embark on my own caregiving journey. Her support has been priceless.” (March 16, 2026)
Kim also marked the fifth anniversary of the Atlanta spa shootings by honoring those lost and addressing broader issues of violence and discrimination: “It’s been five years since the Atlanta spa shootings. We remember and honor the eight individuals who lost their lives as a result of senseless violence and anti-Asian hate. May their memory be a reminder that we must continue to stand up against hate in all of its forms.” (March 16, 2026)
Additionally, Kim highlighted cultural achievements connected to his home state while celebrating with his family: “Loved cheering on KPop Demon Hunters on the Oscars stage with my boys last night. Special shout-out to the two New Jerseyans who make up the HUNTR/X trio, EJAE and Audrey Nuna, the singing voices behind Rumi and Mira!” (March 16, 2026)
Kim has served in Congress since replacing Tom MacArthur in 2019 and is known for engaging both national policy issues and local community matters. Born in Boston in 1982, Kim resides in Moorestown and holds degrees from Deep Springs College (2002) and the University of Chicago (2004).
