Senator Andy Kim, a representative of New Jersey’s 3rd district since 2019, recently addressed concerns on social media regarding the Trump administration’s actions related to Iran. In a series of tweets, he questioned the level of consultation and coordination with international allies.
On June 22, 2025, Senator Kim raised questions about the Trump administration’s engagement with global partners. He asked “WHAT WILL THE WORLD THINK? Beyond Israel, did the Trump administration consult with our allies? What kind of coordination on this action was there with our European allies who were just negotiating with Iran in Geneva on Friday? Do we have partners on board for what will come”.
In another tweet posted shortly after, Senator Kim expressed his concerns regarding future developments following military actions against Iran. He stated “WHAT COMES NEXT? I worked for years before my time in Congress to stop Iranian violence and terror. I want to stop their path towards a nuclear weapon. But even if these strikes destroyed these sites, Iran may still have enriched material and can restart its program or race”.
Continuing his critique of the situation, Senator Kim questioned the broader strategy behind recent U.S. actions. He tweeted “We need to know: What is Trump’s plan for what comes next? What is the broader strategy to achieve a lasting peace in the region? What are the implications of this action for other U.S. interests, including our ability to deter China in the Indo-Pacific or the North Koreans from”.
Andy Kim was born in Boston in 1982 and currently resides in Moorestown. He holds degrees from Deep Springs College and the University of Chicago.
