Senator Andy Kim, a U.S. Senator and current representative of New Jersey’s 3rd district, posted several updates on April 17, 2026, highlighting his legislative efforts and advocacy work.
In a post from the afternoon of April 17, Kim stated: “Trump is fighting a war in our name, at our expense, but without our say. That’s why I introduced a War Powers Resolution to end Trump’s costly war of choice. It’s time we bring this to an end and focus on making life less expensive for families.” This message underscores his recent introduction of a War Powers Resolution aimed at curbing military engagement and redirecting attention to domestic economic issues.
Later that day, Kim discussed collaboration with organizations focused on senior care. On April 17 he wrote: “I met with @AARPNJ to discuss how we can work together to support caregivers and protect seniors from fraud and scams. As a member of the Sandwich Generation looking after my two little boys and my aging parents, I am grateful to have AARP NJ as a partner in this fight.”
In another update on the same date, Kim referenced his participation in a health summit roundtable: “Recently, I participated in a Health Summit Roundtable with the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies. I shared my story as a caregiver and the importance of addressing health disparities so that every person in this country is able to access quality care.”
Kim has served as New Jersey’s 3rd District representative since defeating Tom MacArthur in 2019. He was born in Boston in 1982 and currently resides in Moorestown. Kim holds degrees from Deep Springs College (2002) and the University of Chicago (2004).
