Senator Andy Kim, who has represented New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, shared a series of posts on May 7, 2026, highlighting his recent activities and expressing appreciation for educators and community needs in New Jersey.
In recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week, Kim wrote, “Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! I’m proud to be a public school kid representing NJ. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the teachers and educators who shaped my path along the way. To all the teachers out there, thank you for all you do for NJ and this country!” (May 7, 2026).
Later that day, Kim reported on his visit to Bridgeton, New Jersey to discuss affordable housing. He stated, “I spent time in Bridgeton, NJ to learn about the affordable housing needs of the community. I spoke with residents of the Phoenix Village community and toured Maplewood Gardens to learn about housing options and expansion in town. We must continue to invest in building more” (May 7, 2026).
Kim also addressed transportation infrastructure during his visit to Vineland. He posted, “I’m proud to be the first U.S. Senator from South Jersey in seven decades and I’m committed to investing in the region’s public transit system. That’s why I visited the Vineland Transportation Center to learn about the needs of the community and the Vineland commuter express” (May 7, 2026).
Kim was born in Boston in 1982 and currently resides in Moorestown. He graduated from Deep Springs College in 2002 and earned a BA from the University of Chicago in 2004. He succeeded Tom MacArthur as representative for New Jersey’s 3rd district.
