Senator Andy Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 3rd district since 2019, addressed rising public concerns over the impact of the Iran war on Americans’ daily lives in a series of posts on April 16, 2026.
In his first post, Kim wrote, “Americans wake up every morning and find themselves living in an age of incredible anxiety and insecurity. They see the Iran war leading to higher prices at the gas pump and grocery store. We need to work urgently to put an end to the war and instead use taxpayer dollars to” (April 16, 2026).
Later that day, he followed with another statement: “You’re feeling this. He isn’t.” (April 16, 2026).
Kim also shared local context by posting: “Images from gas stations in New Jersey: Fort Lee, Cliffside Park, Jersey City, Barrington, Brick, Edgewater, Maywood” (April 16, 2026).
Kim has served in Congress since replacing Tom MacArthur in 2019 and resides in Moorestown. Born in Boston in 1982 and currently aged 40, Kim is an alumnus of Deep Springs College and the University of Chicago.
