Senator Andy Kim’s Office recently shared a series of tweets addressing various issues on social media. In these tweets, Kim expressed concerns over the economic impact of policies and legislation affecting the American populace.

On April 8, 2025, Kim critiqued the tariffs implemented by former President Trump, asserting, “The American people are paying the price for Trump’s tariffs.” He revealed that he had joined his fellow Democrats in the Senate Banking Committee in calling for a hearing. The purpose of the hearing would be to investigate the economic consequences of these tariffs and the harm they might have inflicted on working families, alongside fulfilling the oversight responsibilities of Congress.

The following day, April 9, 2025, Kim commented on the significance of legislating for public servants. He stated, “As Trump vilifies public service and goes after workers’ rights, it’s critical that Congress pass the Public Service Freedom to Negotiate Act.” According to Kim, defending and empowering workers is crucial, and Congress must support fair compensation and benefits for working families as they advocate for their rights.

Later that day, Kim expressed appreciation for communal engagement through an event known as Capitol Coffees. He noted, “Capitol Coffees are an amazing opportunity to talk about the top issues facing our communities and state. Thank you to everyone who came by at the Capitol today!” This statement reflected his efforts to engage in direct dialogue with constituents on pressing matters.

Andy Kim has been serving in the U.S. Congress for New Jersey’s 3rd District since 2019, after succeeding Tom MacArthur. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1982, Kim currently resides in Moorestown and is an alumnus of the University of Chicago and Deep Springs College.
