Senator Andy Kim, currently representing New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of policy issues and recent legislative actions in a series of tweets posted on February 11 and 12, 2026.
On February 11, Kim highlighted the importance of community banks for rural and small towns. He stated, “Community banks are the backbone of many rural and small towns left behind in bank deserts like we have in South Jersey. I introduced the TRUST Act to make it easier for these small town banks to provide small businesses and working families pathways to the economic stability” (posted at 22:05 UTC).
Later that evening, Kim commented on actions taken by New Jersey Governor Sherrill regarding immigration enforcement. In his tweet from 23:02 UTC, he wrote, “I commend @GovSherrillNJ for this. ICE’s lawlessness threatens all of our safety. I urge all NJ residents to follow along and know your rights.”
The following day, Kim addressed congressional efforts related to tariffs imposed during Donald Trump’s presidency. At 00:18 UTC on February 12, he tweeted, “The idea that Congress is powerless to stand up to Trump is wrong. The Senate took action and today the House finished the job in reversing these tariffs that are costing you money. It’s just a start. We need to find our power and use it to fight for you and your families.”
Andy Kim has served as a member of Congress since defeating Tom MacArthur in 2019, representing New Jersey’s 3rd District (source: FACTS FOR STEP 4). Born in Boston in 1982 and currently residing in Moorestown, Kim holds degrees from Deep Springs College (2002) and the University of Chicago (2004).
