Senator Andy Kim, representing New Jersey’s 3rd district, recently took to social media to express his stance on actions taken by the Trump Administration. Through a series of tweets, the Senator addressed both constitutional issues and economic policies, providing a critical perspective on current government practices. For context, Kim, born in 1982 in Boston, Massachusetts, has been serving in Congress since 2019 and currently resides in Moorestown.
On April 18, 2025, Senator Kim expressed concerns via a tweet about the Trump Administration’s motivations, particularly regarding border security and civil liberties. “This isn’t about securing our border or our communities. The Trump Administration is doing this so they can set a standard for ignoring due process and send anyone they want to a foreign prison, away from any their rights. Donald Trump swore an oath to uphold the Constitution,” Kim stated.
Continuing his critique on April 19, 2025, Kim questioned the economic strategies of the administration, as highlighted in another tweet. He posed a critical inquiry, “How is THIS Trump’s master economic plan…” suggesting skepticism toward the economic policies being implemented.
Kim, holding a BA from the University of Chicago, has nurtured a career centered around public service and policy analysis. He succeeded Tom MacArthur to become the U.S. Congress representative for New Jersey’s 3rd District and has often used his platform to discuss national issues impacting his constituents.
