Senator Andy Kim, a U.S. Senator representing New Jersey’s 3rd district since 2019, has recently voiced his concerns on social media regarding international institutions, U.S. foreign policy, and congressional recognition of the January 6 events.

On January 8, 2026, Kim posted that “There’s no question that many international institutions are no longer working as intended, or long past time for updating. However, withdrawing from them en masse eliminates our ability to reform them, and cedes ground to competitors like China that will use this opportunity to https://t.co/banJ9UCXZx”. In this statement, Kim expressed concern over the potential consequences of mass withdrawal from global organizations.

Later that day, he commented on the current administration’s approach to foreign relations. On January 8, 2026, Kim wrote: “This administration has it wrong. Our global security comes from strong allies and leading by example. Not half-baked threats and aggression. I’m calling for public hearings so you can get answers. https://t.co/jfZQzNAeIA”.

In another post on the same day, Kim addressed the issue of commemorating the events of January 6 at the Capitol. He stated: “Since Speaker Johnson refuses to display the Jan 6 plaque, the Senate unanimously agreed to display it on our side of the Capitol. @SpeakerJohnson, go dig the plaque out of whatever hole you’ve been hiding it in. https://t.co/AGlg5Bx1GH”.

Kim’s remarks come amid ongoing debates about America’s role in international organizations and how Congress should address recent historical events such as January 6. Since replacing Tom MacArthur in Congress in 2019, Kim has built a reputation for advocating diplomatic engagement and transparency in government proceedings. Born in Boston in 1982 and currently residing in Moorestown, Kim holds degrees from Deep Springs College (2002) and the University of Chicago (BA, 2004).
