Senator Andy Kim, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 3rd district since 2019, has used social media to criticize former President Donald Trump’s impact on infrastructure and tax policy, specifically as it affects New Jersey residents.

In a post dated February 10, 2026, Kim highlighted the importance of the Gateway Tunnel Project for his constituents: “No matter where they are on the political spectrum, NJ residents know the Gateway Tunnel Project will result in easier commutes, thousands of jobs, and greater economic connection to NYC. Trump’s ego is holding all of this hostage.”

Later that day, Kim addressed tax issues linked to Trump-era policies. He stated: “This is a tax on you. You paid $1,000 more in a tax because of Trump.” The tweet suggests that changes made during Trump’s administration have had direct financial consequences for taxpayers in New Jersey.

Kim continued his criticism with another post referencing union workers: “Read these stories. Trump’s political games are once again putting real lives at risk. Union workers in NJ, and their loved ones who rely on them, deserve better.” This statement underscores concerns about the well-being of local laborers affected by federal policy decisions.

Born in Boston in 1982 and currently residing in Moorestown, Andy Kim has served New Jersey’s 3rd District since replacing Tom MacArthur in 2019. He holds degrees from Deep Springs College (2002) and the University of Chicago (BA, 2004).
