Senator Andy Kim, who represents New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on February 18, 2026, addressing national infrastructure, local policy, and foreign affairs.
In his first post at 17:35 UTC, Kim criticized former President Donald Trump’s handling of a major transportation initiative: “Trump should have never put our workers, commuters, or economy on the line like this. Enough of his tantrums. It’s time to get construction for the Gateway Tunnel Project up and running again.”
Later that day at 17:49 UTC, Kim addressed the issue of private detention centers in New Jersey: “From Roxbury to Newark, Private Detention Centers have no place in New Jersey. These profit-driven companies create chaos that puts our communities at risk. Join us to protect those who call NJ home. Make your voice heard: https://t.co/b0p6dOOSxY https://t.co/uqQyt2Igib”
At 18:01 UTC on the same day, Kim commented on escalating tensions with Iran and criticized unilateral executive action: “The American people do not want to go to war with Iran. This is another dangerous escalation by Trump without a clear plan or consent from Congress. A reminder to the President: you don’t get to unilaterally decide when we go to war.”
Kim has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after defeating Tom MacArthur and currently resides in Moorestown. He was born in Boston in 1982 and holds degrees from Deep Springs College and the University of Chicago.
