Senator Andy Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 3rd district since 2019, has used his social media platform to voice criticism of former President Donald Trump and express concerns about U.S. policy in Venezuela.
On January 3, 2026, Kim posted on X: “It’s the same playbook time and time again: Trump and his buddies benefit at the expense of the American people. Corrupt mob boss politics.”
Two days later, on January 5, he commented on U.S. strategy toward Venezuela: “There’s no plan. They don’t know what they’re doing. Figuring out what comes next in Venezuela requires serious effort — one that we should be working on with recognized opposition leaders, allies and partners to deliver security and stability, not one driven by profits for”
Later that day, Kim continued his critique regarding energy policy and campaign financing: “IS THE GOAL PROFIT? – Trump was clear, ‘we’re gonna be taking out a tremendous amount of wealth out of the ground.’ Who is going to profit? We’ve seen the oil and gas industry pump millions into Trump’s campaign and the Trump White House. Trump said last night that he was in”
Kim has served as a congressman since defeating Tom MacArthur in 2019. He was born in Boston in 1982 and currently resides in Moorestown. His educational background includes degrees from Deep Springs College (2002) and the University of Chicago (2004).
