Senator Andy Kim, who represents New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on his Twitter account on January 7, 2026, addressing recent actions and policies under former President Donald Trump’s administration.
In one post from January 7, 2026, Kim criticized Trump’s characterization of U.S. actions in Venezuela: “It’s absolutely ridiculous that Trump would say their action in Venezuela was a law enforcement action. All their excuses are just a guise for their extortion foreign policy.”
Later the same day, Kim commented on reported firings within FEMA: “Haphazardly firing FEMA employees who are dedicated to disaster recovery and emergency preparedness shows where Trump’s and Noem’s priorities lie – and it’s not with you. Disaster will strike and we will be less prepared as a result of this administration.”
In another post that evening, Kim responded to video footage involving an ICE officer: “I just saw the video footage of an ICE officer shooting an American citizen. I’m still processing it as it was incredibly disturbing. There must be an immediate investigation. People across the country have been living in fear that a situation like this could happen. We’ve seen”
Andy Kim has served as the representative for New Jersey’s 3rd District since 2019 after succeeding Tom MacArthur. He was born in Boston in 1982 and currently resides in Moorestown. Kim is also an alumnus of Deep Springs College and the University of Chicago.
