Senator Andy Kim, who represents New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform to voice concerns about recent actions by the Trump Administration, referencing both public health and law enforcement issues.

On August 29, 2025, Kim expressed support for CDC workers participating in a walkout in Atlanta. In his post, he stated: “I see and stand with CDC workers and those who are supported them at the walkout in Atlanta. The Trump Administration is risking the health and safety of all Americans, while firing the public servants who work to keep us safe. It’s absolutely wrong.”

Later that day, marking the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Kim reflected on its impact and linked it to current federal policies. He wrote: “Today marks 20 years since Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. One of the deadliest natural disasters in our nation’s history, it’s a stark reminder of what happens when we’re not prepared. We’re in the midst of hurricane season now, yet the Trump administration continues to”

In another post on August 29, Kim referenced action taken with Senator Gary Peters regarding law enforcement oversight: “Last week, @SenGaryPeters and I sent a letter to the Trump Admin about our concern over the federalization of the DC Metro Police. This is an unprecedented overstep that once again illustrates this admin’s disregard for the rule of law. I won’t stand for political power grabs”

Andy Kim has represented New Jersey’s 3rd District since 2019 after succeeding Tom MacArthur. He was born in Boston in 1982 and currently resides in Moorestown. Kim earned degrees from Deep Springs College and the University of Chicago.
