Senator Andy Kim, a U.S. Congress member representing New Jersey’s 3rd district since 2019, recently shared his views on several pressing issues via social media. His statements reflect concerns about legislative actions and their potential impacts on constituents.
On July 2, 2025, Senator Kim expressed his disapproval of recent actions by Senate Republicans. He questioned whether House Republicans would follow suit or prioritize the interests of their constituents over those of billionaires. “Yesterday, Senate Republicans betrayed the American people.”
Later that day, Senator Kim addressed the issue of the State and Local Tax (SALT) cap, emphasizing its significance for New Jersey residents. He highlighted his communication with Representative Tom Kean Jr., urging him to honor his commitments to constituents regarding tax policy. “Any vote other than a full repeal of the SALT cap is a vote to raise taxes on New Jerseyans.”
On July 3, 2025, Senator Kim voiced concerns about proposed Republican budget cuts. He noted feedback from New Jersey residents who fear these cuts could adversely affect vulnerable groups such as seniors and children by reducing access to essential resources like food. “I’m hearing from folks all across New Jersey about how Republicans’ dangerous cuts will take food away from seniors, children, and other vulnerable communities.”
Andy Kim was born in Boston in 1982 and resides in Moorestown. He holds degrees from both Deep Springs College and the University of Chicago.
