Senator Andy Kim, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 3rd district since 2019, posted a series of statements on social media criticizing conditions and law enforcement actions at the Delaney Hall detention facility. In his tweets, Kim described his recent visit to the site and interactions with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials.
On May 26, 2026, Kim wrote, “For GEO Group, the company that runs the Delaney Hall detention facility, it’s all about profit over people. What I saw there this weekend was absolutely corrupt and cruel.”
The following day, he addressed an incident involving ICE officers, “I told ICE that they could NOT just plow through a crowd of civilians at Delaney Hall. They didn’t care. Here’s what happened yesterday.”
In another post on May 27, Kim stated, “What I saw at Delaney Hall reinforced what we already know: we can’t continue to write a blank check to ICE while their violence and lawlessness continue.”
Kim has served in Congress since defeating Tom MacArthur in 2019. He was born in Boston in 1982 and currently resides in Moorestown. He is an alumnus of Deep Springs College and the University of Chicago.
Delaney Hall is operated by GEO Group under contract with federal authorities. The facility has previously drawn scrutiny from advocacy groups regarding detainee treatment and oversight practices.
