Senator Andy Kim, who has represented New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, posted a series of tweets on January 11, 2026, criticizing the current administration and its policies.
In a tweet posted at 16:57 UTC, Kim wrote, “When a mob boss president hires mob boss staff you get mob boss results: corruption, lies, and intimidation. It doesn’t have to be this way.”
Later that day at 18:29 UTC, Kim stated, “Another attempt by this administration to create enemies where there are none and justify violence against American citizens. We must connect the dots of their corruption and lawlessness. Shame on them.”
At 18:44 UTC on the same day, he added criticism regarding congressional oversight of detention facilities: “What is it about co-equal branches of government that this admin doesn’t understand? Congress must be able to visit detention facilities like Delaney Hall to stop them from wasting YOUR tax dollars on abuse and cruelty – but once again, they are blocking us. We cannot let”
Kim was born in Boston in 1982 and currently resides in Moorestown. He holds degrees from Deep Springs College (2002) and the University of Chicago (2004). Before his election to Congress—where he succeeded Tom MacArthur—he built a background in public service.
The tweets reflect ongoing tensions between legislative oversight efforts and executive branch actions related to detention facility access and broader governance concerns.
