On April 8, 2025, Senator Kim voiced his dissatisfaction with Trump’s actions toward the National Institutes of Health (NIH), stating, “As Trump goes after NIH he’s not just cutting funds, he is slashing millions of Americans’ hope that a breakthrough will save their life or a loved one’s life from cancer. We should be doing all we can to make this hope come true, not rip it away.”
In another post on the same day, he criticized Speaker Johnson’s support for Trump’s policies, arguing that they are detrimental to the economy. He stated, “Speaker Johnson wants to give Trump ‘runway’ as his tariffs sabotage our economy. NJ small businesses don’t have ‘runway’ to give. Like many small businesses and families across this country they will suffer while Republican leaders in Congress give President Trump ‘runway.'”
