Senator Andy Kim, who has represented New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, posted a series of statements on social media criticizing former President Donald Trump and calling for urgent action from Congressional Republicans.
On April 8, 2026, Senator Kim wrote, “Trump’s unhinged actions have shown there’s no time to waste. This is an easy yes for me. Republicans in Congress have to step up and help us end this war.”
Later that day, he posted another message regarding cybersecurity funding: “We’re at war and Republicans in Congress refuse to fund CISA, our nation’s cybersecurity agency. Since he was sworn in, Trump has cut CISA’s staff by a third and has tried to cut their funding. Clearly they don’t care about your safety.”
In a tweet dated April 9, 2026, Kim called for Trump’s removal from office: “Trump is unfit to be Commander-in-Chief. I support his removal from office, whether it be through the 25th Amendment or impeachment in Congress.”
Senator Kim succeeded Tom MacArthur as the representative of New Jersey’s 3rd district beginning in 2019. He was born in Boston in 1982 and currently resides in Moorestown. Kim holds degrees from Deep Springs College (2002) and the University of Chicago (2004).
