Senator Andy Kim, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 3rd district since 2019, recently addressed several issues through his official Twitter account, including international cooperation in shipbuilding, local weather threats, and a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) operation in New Jersey.

On August 21, 2025, Kim shared details about a diplomatic visit to South Korea: “While in Seoul, @SenDuckworth and I met with key leaders in shipbuilding. In the United States, we face challenges when it comes to advanced shipbuilding, but by working with our partners abroad, we can improve American prosperity and security while also deepening our alliance”.

Later that day, Kim posted an update regarding Hurricane Erin’s effects on his home state: “While Hurricane Erin is not expected to make landfall in New Jersey, its impacts are being felt along the Jersey Shore. Dangerous flooding, wind gusts, and surf conditions are expected in Monmouth, Ocean, Atlantic, Cumberland, and Cape May counties starting this evening into the”.

In another post on August 21, Kim commented on recent law enforcement activity: “My statement with @SenBooker on the DHS warehouse raid in Edison, NJ.”

Kim was born in Boston in 1982 and currently resides in Moorestown. He graduated from Deep Springs College in 2002 and received his BA from the University of Chicago in 2004. Since replacing Tom MacArthur in Congress six years ago, Kim has been active on both domestic and international issues relevant to his district.
