Kim, born in Boston in 1982 and currently residing in Moorestown, issued timely updates regarding public safety during flash floods and highlighted key congressional hearings.
On July 14, 2025, Senator Kim alerted residents to hazardous weather: “There are heavy storms and a flash flood warning in parts of New Jersey until tonight. Please stay safe and check this website for what to do before, during, and after a flood: https://t.co/mVwqQfjuob https://t.co/xTvBsbTQad”.
Later that evening on July 15, 2025, he reiterated the seriousness of the situation following official action by state authorities: “Stay safe, New Jersey. The Governor has declared a state of emergency due to flash flooding.
