Senator Andy Kim, who represents New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates and reflections on current events and policy issues through a series of tweets on March 13, 2026.
In one post, Senator Kim expressed condolences regarding the loss of two service members: “Heartbroken to learn of the loss of the final 2 service members that search and rescue was looking for. May we grieve for them and their families today.” (March 13, 2026).
Later that day, he described a meeting with South Korean officials: “It was great to meet with Prime Minister Minseok Kim of South Korea as well as Ambassador Kang Kyung-wha. The U.S.-ROK alliance is critically important to NJ and our country, and one we should continue to foster and grow.

Senator Kim also addressed the financial impact of military conflict in Iran under former President Trump: “The price tag for Trump’s war in Iran is $1 billion PER DAY.
That’d be able to cover:
The cost of Medicaid for all 16 million people expected to lose it AND daily food stamps for all 41 million people who rely on them.
Trump chose a war without a plan over you.” (March 13, 2026).
Senator Kim has represented New Jersey’s 3rd District since replacing Tom MacArthur in Congress in 2019. He was born in Boston in 1982 and currently resides in Moorestown. His educational background includes degrees from Deep Springs College (2002) and the University of Chicago (2004).
